Seashore Waste Management Division considers the 3R Concept; Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle as the best option for waste management offering a practical and economically feasible waste management solution by minimizing the waste generation as much as possible.
Waste reduction from the core source is a long felt necessity to maintain sustainable development while protecting the limited natural resources for the future generation. In order to meet such high standard requirements, Seashore Waste Management Division is involved in many waste reduction awareness programs among public, business establishment, schools.
In line with this objective, waste is being segregated at our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) located at Al Khor, Ras Laffan and Mesaieed to recover useful material that can be reused. Reusable materials such as cardboard, furniture, packing material, glass bottles, tyres etc. are recovered here and diverted for reusing.
Waste materials such as paper, plastic, metal, used tires, used batteries, etc. are recovered at the MRF and diverted to recycling facilities. The recycling process is carried out by various companies in order to minimize the usage of virgin resource/materials used for producing new goods.
Metal is recycled at Seashore Steel Plant located at Doha and used tire is recycled at Seashore Tire Recycling Factory located at Shahaniya. It is with a sense of pride and accomplishment, we could share that Seashore is the pioneer in introducing used tire recycling technology and facility in the State of Qatar.
